Aimed at experimenting with technologies aimed at energy saving
The design of the new hospital structure located in the Maipu area in Chile is the result of constant research on the integration between environmental compatibility and technological choices. The competition was an opportunity to identify innovative solutions, aimed at relocating structures, spaces and times in relation to the patient's needs. The project is also aimed at experimenting with technologies aimed at energy saving and energy production from renewable sources, as a new frontier for combining service efficiency with the humanization of space and environmental comfort. A complex system that brings together the needs of reliability and flexibility, with principles of environmental sustainability, humanization and the centrality of the person. The objective is to overcome the increasingly marked dichotomy between technological innovations relating to the methods of providing healthcare services and the ethics aimed at human dignity and the psychological well-being of patients and healthcare workers.
